God Thinks about You!

I know it might be hard to believe that an infinite God would think about "you", but He does!

Psalm 8:4 What is man that you are mindful of him
.

The word "mindful" means aware. He is aware of you, your desires, your struggles, fears, and joys.

It is so easy to get stuck with the mentality that God is only thinking of the "church worldwide" or thinking of those who we perceive as good or spiritual; maybe those that have the perfect family or lots of money. But He is not a respecter of person. (Romans 2:11) It doesn't matter your life experiences, failures or mistakes, He has thoughts towards you, to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE!

Psalm 137:19 "How precious to me are your thoughts O God, How vast is the sum of them"

The word Vast means: in size, degree and intensity!

God thinks of you and He is intentional with His thoughts towards you~

Remember Today: God LOVES you and THINKS about you!

Girls, need a better outlook?

Okay girls! Have you ever had that feeling like your outlook on life has dropped a little bit? It's not that you are depressed, it's just that life seems blah? Well, there are a few natural supplements you can begin to take that will help with the cognitive function.

I will share the brands I am taking:
Udo's Oil DHA
3/6/9 Blend Omega Fatty Acid

Omega 3/6/9 supports congitive function and eye health. Omega 3 fatty acids are poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Studies show that a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids may help lower triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). Omega 3 fatty acids may also act as an anticoagulant to prevent blood from clotting. Several other studies also suggest that these fatty acids may help lower high blood pressure.

Greener Grass?

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” ~Epicurus

What a delusion it is when we continue to look at other people’s lives and wish you had what they had! It is so easy with human nature to peek over into the lives of other people that we admire or perceive are living the life we wish we were living. Whether it is a better marriage, children, the house you live in or your status in life.

In 2 Corinthians 10:12 it says, “But, they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise".

This is such a powerful scripture! When we begin to focus on the areas of our life we are unhappy with, we have a tendency to zone in on people who have what you truly desire. The Bible says this is unwise. As you keep looking at someone else, everything in your life will become distorted and you find yourself very unhappy with your life and you cannot see the wonderful blessings you do have, because you are blindsided by what you wish you had! It is important to have desires in your life, but keep your eyes focused on Jesus the "author and finisher of your faith"

Philippians 4:11 says, “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content”

To be content means to be satisfied. Have you ever heard the saying "I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I'm not where I was" I encourage you today to take off your distorted glasses, stop looking at others lives and begin to look in your own life and see the wonderful blessings that are there. Here is a simple assignment that will really help you!

Number 1: Get a notebook and every day sit down for a few minutes and look into your life and write down the things are Thankful for, the things you can appreciate! It can be from the smallest things to the biggest. As you begin to focus on the good, you will see just how blessed you really are!

In Psalms 100:4 it says “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

Number 2: Begin to thank God every day! As you have a thankful heart, you will be covered by the anointing and love of God! It will remove the sorrow of your heart and you will begin to see how wonderful God is and how wonderful your life really is!

Number 3: Let others around you know what you are thankful for. Share with your family how blessed you are, how thankful you are! This will be contagious to everyone around you and will create a positive, happy atmosphere in your home!

“We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” ~ Frederick Keonig

My HERO: My MOM!

I have seen a lot of contest going on for people to write about their “hero” and see if their story would win. Well, there is NO contest in which person is my hero. She is my mom! She is truly the most amazing, self-sacrificing woman I have ever met. She has been such an amazing example to me even as a little girl.

LOVE: Her LOVE for God is the first quality that you could never miss when you meet her. She has such a deep love for God and a commitment to the Word. She has never wavered knowing how much God loves her or how much she loves Him. She lives out the scripture.
Luke 10:27 “Love God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. Love others as you love yourself."
Because of her love for God, she has such an amazing love for people. Everywhere she goes, you will find her sharing the love of Jesus every chance she gets. She has a passion for the lost. She is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ!

SACRIFICIAL: She is willing to do whatever God calls her to do no matter what sacrifice it requires. I have seen her leave everything she loves twice in her life to follow the calling of God and to push and encourage the dreams of her husband. She has left family, houses, ministry and everything familiar to her; to launch a ministry in Beloit, WI and then to do it all over again in Phoenix, AZ. I have seen her sacrifice financially over and over to build the Kingdom of God. She has lived out the scripture.
Luke 18:29"I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

SUBMISSIVE: She is a strong woman, anointed and powerful and yet knows that beautiful boundary of submission to her husband. If he say’s it, she will stand by him forever. You don’t dare come to her about her man, all 5’ 1” of her will go nose to nose with you to protect and honor him. She loves him with an amazing unconditional love. Will never see or hear her disrespect her husband with her words or actions, it is first instinct to honor and respect him. I know this comes from her LOVE for God and her ability to submit to the Holy Spirit in her life.
Ephesians 5:22- 24 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,
his body, of which he is the Savior.
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should
submit to their husbands in everything.

LOYAL: She is a loyal friend and she is my best friend. If you are in her life, no matter who you are or what status you are; she will ALWAYS protect you first. She will not let others talk about you to her; she will stop you dead in your tracks and say “you will not talk about them without them here too”. I love that about her.
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times"

MINISTRY: She has the most beautiful call of God on her life. She is rich with the word of God and full of wisdom! She is a woman that has lead the Proverbs 31 life, without question! I am blessed as her daughter to have been able to watch her, learn from her and model who I am today because of her. I would NEVER be who I am if it wasn’t for her!
Proverbs 31 "Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised"

I Love you mom, YOU are my hero!!

Changing the World: Me?

One of my TRUE stories:
First time ever written

I have always had such a deep passion to make an impact in the world by reaching the hearts of people with the Love of God. Even as a young girl, I would imagine reaching out and helping someone in need.

I attended high school with this young girl named “Rachel”. She was a very quiet, withdrawn girl. Me, always being drawn to the un-popular, I began to reach out to her and befriend her. Hidden under the exterior of fear was this beautiful, lively girl full of dreams for her life.

One day as we were talking she began to open up to me and share about her living conditions. She was living in this “community” where no one was allowed to have friendship outside of their community.

She was not allowed to have a job, they told her who she had to marry, no one was allowed to have their own bank account; all assets had to be turned into the Head Leaders. I’m sure you can see where I am going with this; “Rachel” was born into a “cult” environment.
She desired so much for her life and because of the control and manipulation she was under and gripped with fear; she could see no way out.

It became a regular conversation of ours, her expressing more and more unhappiness with her life. We were only 17 years old at the time, but my heart was so heavy for this girl and I wanted to help her in such a desperate way. I felt every girl should have a chance to have a beautiful, fulfilling life.

We began to talk more about her family members that were outside of the “cult” and she mentioned she had an aunt that had broken away many years ago. This perked my interest. I told her to find out if she could locate her number. She immediately rose in fear, saying if she got caught horrible things would happen to her; well, only being 17 years old I told her to try anyway.

She was not allowed to make any outside contact herself, so I knew once I had the information I was going to have to take matters in my own hands.

“Rachel” came to school one day with the phone number in her hands shaking with fear. I took the number and placed it in my wallet and told her “not to worry, everything was going to be okay” “you are going to be free to live your own life, just trust me”. As I write this, I’m thinking to myself, “what the heck were you thinking?”

I now know, only the leading of the Love of God could get me to do what I did next. I met with a girlfriend at the school, Carla McKinney, who I could trust and told her the entire story and asked her for her help. She was on board immediately.

We contacted the aunt of “Rachel” who was so excited to hear about the news of her niece. We told her the entire story that she desired to live a life of freedom. So we came up with a plan.

The last day of our senior year “Rachel came to school with all the things she knew she could take with her; which was only a simple backpack. Throughout the entire day we were so nervous and anxious hoping and praying that everything would go as planned.

After lunch, I parked my car at the other end of the building; where students were not allowed to be and as soon as the final school bell rang, the three of us took off running through the hallways of the school, out the back side of the building and into my 1968 Chevy Nova named “Rusty Ann”. We drove as fast as we could out of the school parking lot, wondering what are we doing, but feeling it was so right; kept going.

Our adrenal was running so strong, that I cannot even remember if any of us said anything in the car. I wonder what was going through “Rachel’s” mind at the time. I never asked her. We had set up a location outside of the school to meet her Aunt. We pulled up to that meeting place and were able to reunite the two together. We all sat and talked for a few minutes, introduced “Rachel” to her Aunt and then pulled away.

I honestly never knew what happen to “Rachel” after we left her with her Aunt. Years had gone by and I went to go grocery shopping at a store I never go into, on a side of town I never go to. As I was being checked out by the cashier, the girl looked at me and said, “you are Barb Pruitt, aren’t you” and with a puzzled look on my face said “yes”. She said, ‘you don’t recognize me do you?” No, I didn’t know her face. She smiled brightly and said my name is “Rachel” the girl you rescued from the “cult”.

Wow, now in my 20’s I immediately saw the gravity of what us naive high school girls did that last day of school. I found out she had continued to be safely out of the cult, she went on to marry and have 2 kids and was extremely happy. With a bright smile, I will NEVER forget, she thanked me as he bagged my groceries.

I have never seen her again, but what a gift to give my heart to know I was a part of helping change her life!

~Girls Lives Changed Forever~

Esther's Court is a time of mentoring for girls ranging anywhere from college age and up. You will experience the love of God in a way that will transform your heart and your self-image so you as a girl can live the life our King has designed for you!

Esther's Court is set in a non-threatening and intimate atmosphere where we will share the word of God, have personal ministry and allow the presence of God and the anointing to flow. I will be sharing my personal experiences, journey of my life and my relationship with Jesus Christ!

This past Monday, we had such a beautiful, intimate time together. The Lord gave me a Word that he was going to break the control of Shame off of these woman's lives. That Shame has kept them imprisoned in fear and hiding who they really are! I was so overwhelmed by all the emails, texts and tweets I received that I decided to pick a few out and post them to testify what God is doing!

I didn't post their names to respect their privacy until they personally desire to share their experience.

"I was completely in awe when I saw these strong women, of all ages, colors, and backgrounds cry out and hold their heads down with shame. We have NO idea what others are going through but we judge them anyways. It was the MOST powerful thing I have ever seen, the trust the women had to have to give up SOME or ALL of their pain."
~
"It truly was a touch of His divine love and Grace! Thank you Jesus!"
~
"Thanks sooo much pastor barbie for allowing God to use you to reach his daughters! I had no idea that my issues i dealt with were that big and really taking control of my life and becoming a huge hindrance. I feel soo much better and i just wanted to say thank you. I bought new pajamas too
♥ luv ya!! "

~
"I had to stop on my way home and park my car to write this :)

I realized tonight that toughness is holding me back. I imagined myself wearing a life size crab shell, only exposing a part of myself and carrying that heavy shell around everywhere I go, dressing up the part of me that I ALLOW people to see. Tonight I felt that shell being broken piece by piece. All of me was exposed. It was uncomfortable yet I felt Gods love pouring down on me. When you read that story I found myself looking around to see if anyone was looking at me because I felt like that woman was me. Though God has delivered me from the unimaginable and I had been able to share my victory with other women."
~
"Loved every minute of it. Thank you!"
~
"I have got more accomplished today than in months!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have truly been set free! I feel amazing! I feel loved! I feel really happy! I just wanted to share this with you... I am blessed to have you in my life! :) Thanks for being around!"
~
"I have been set free!! It was amazing!"
~
"It really was an incredible time Pastor Barb. God set me free in such an amazing way... from something I've carried around since I was 13! I've been struggling with things in my past for a long time honestly and I've had breakthrough's before but God really did something very powerful last night... I think my heart was just ready. :) and like you said, I don' t even think I really knew what was really wrong until God revealed the issue of shame. I feel like now all I can see is my bright, open future and the past is done with and over. You have such a beautiful way of ministering and it is such a huge blessing to have you as one of my pastor's! Love you!"
~
"Pastor Barb!!! Thank you for tonight. It was amazing. I am free indeed. There will be no more shame."

"Strength and honor are her clothing;
She laughs at her days to come.

Innvocation at Martin Luther King Event 2010

Kristal Armstrong, Barb Pruitt & Eniketi Voss

What a joy and privilege to be asked to pray at the Scottsdale, Arizona's Annual Martin Luther King event 2010. There were almost 1,000 people there; media and many city officials. I knew I only had just a window of time for people to feel the love of God and I wanted to do more than just say a prayer, but share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I prayed that when I mentioned the name of Jesus they would feel the Love of God in such a special way; even if it was quick.

I have to admit, I was very nervous since I am more experience in the "christian" arena, but I truly embraced this as a chance to grow and stretch myself.

I took courage in my presentation, knowing that everyone knew the foundation of Dr. Martin Luther Kings life was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and his legacy of preachers in his family.

As I started my presentation you could hear some rattling of drinks and movement; but I promise you when I mentioned the name of Jesus Christ a beautiful quiet fell across the entire room, so still, it made me quite uncomfortable knowing I had their complete attention. There is so much power in the name of Jesus!!

Please enjoy my presentation and prayer:

Good Evening,
It is such an honor to be here tonight and be a part of such an incredible event to celebrate the Life, and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a man with many titles: a son; a father,a visionary; he was a patriarch, fearless, driven, brilliant, articulate, and on and on.

Each one of us could add our own adjective to describe his character and what he meant to us. I would like to take a moment to spotlight
his love for His God, his savior Jesus Christ. I believe this was the greatest driving force behind his character, his sacrifices, his vision and his God given Mission. He had a love for the people that could only be expressed by understanding the Love of God through his Christian faith.

Spoken from our hero Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

"To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing"

Lets honor his very own w
ords this evening and dedicate this event in prayer to His Lord and His Savior, Jesus Christ. Let's Pray.

Father God,
We thank you for life and
the ability to love and appreciate important patriarchs of our time. We thank you for calling him to this earth with an assignment of such importance. We are grateful that his life was not only devoted to civil rights, but in fact was devoted to you, Jesus Christ. Today we are able to enjoy relationships that generations before us were never able to treasure because of your work through Martin Luther King Jr. We appreciate this special night in honor of a special man. We thank you for every person that helped make tonight the success that it is going to, bless them and bless this food we are about to eat. In Jesus Name, Amen

My favorite part was at the end when the entire room said "AMEN"! So precious to me!

Joe Baca, Eugene Robinson and Don Logan

Don Logan was the first man to start bringing the message of Diversity to the City of Scottsdale and because of his bold commitment to his belief in Diversity, there was an attempt to take his life. He received a package in the mail and when he opened it, it exploded in his hands. That was 5 years ago and they just caught the two men that tried to take his life. He was such a nice man and was an honor to meet him.
(click here to read the story on Don Logan)

Eugen Robinson writes for the Washington Post and a regular guest on CNN. He was the Guest Speaker for the Living the Dream event.

I was so impressed with the heart of Scottsdale and their passion for Diversity and "Living the Dream" in their city! Way to Go!

Special Thanks to Eniketi Voss for the Invitation!

Meet my Kiddos!

I have been sponsoring children with Food for the Hungry for almost 8 years and it has been such a joy to be a part of giving love, education, medication and so much more to children. You are able to correspond with your children, send them little gifts and at the Holiday's you can purchase goats, cows, pigs and chickens for the family to start a livelihood in their country. It is so rewarding. Food for the Hungry will even make a way for you to go on a trip and meet your sponsor child and family. What a joy and I am working on making these trips!

Please enjoy meeting my kiddos, I love them each so dearly!

First meet Martin Huanca Vargas. He lives with his mother only. He has three brothers and two sisters. They live in the community of Ravelo, located in the arid Bolivian Altiplano. Most of the residents have houses made of adobe with straw roofs with at dirt floor.
Martin has been a part of my life since he was in first grade and as you will see; he has gotten so big and so happy since I first started sponsoring him. He has shared in his letters that because of my support he is able to go to a christian school and receive medical care. He really loves Jesus and talks about going to church and Sunday school class. He loves to volunteer in his community. His mom just had another baby boy and Martin wants me to pray for his baby brother.

Meet Hazel Sarahi Aviles Rojas, she lives with her parents and has one brother and one sister. She is five years old and lives in Bayardo Arce, Nicaragua. The homes are constructed from scrap wood, cardboard and plastic with an outdoor latrine.
She is full of life and spunk. My first letter from her had a beautifully drawn picture and she has invited me to come visit her already. Of course, I will have to pray and make that part of my future to go see her.
She is in pre-school right now. I just fell in love with her immediately! She loves making beds and doing Math!
Pre-School/Kindergarten Picture

Meet Rikonia Leruk, she is 5 years and lives in Kenya, Africa. I just love her so much and her pretty green necklace! She has two brothers and three sisters and she loves Washing Dishes and counting. Her community is Lakartinya and they have no local source for water, the women in this community make a 9 mile journey to get water for the family. Many times they have to leave the children behind or strap a baby on their back for the journey. Her family are nomads who keep goats, sheep and shoats and grow a few crops for survival. I am looking forward to learning more about Rikonia. I just started sponsoring her.

Through your prayers and support a child will know that someone cares and will have the hope of a brighter future. If you are interested in learning more on sponsoring a child, you can click on the Food For The Hungry logo or www.fh.org and it will take you directly to their website!

She is going to go get fixed in 2 months..sorry scooter, no more babies for you! She has gained 2 lb since I've had her and a TON of hair!
